MHT Law CET

 

Introduction:

MH CET Law Exam. It will be conducted for admission to the 3 years LLB & 5 years Integrated LLB courses. It will be managed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai. It is a state level entrance test of Maharashtra. This exam is also called as Maharashtra Law CET. On the basis of MH CET score, candidates will get admission to the law colleges situated in Maharashtra state.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality:
  • All Indian Candidates can apply for this exam.
  • Foreign or OCI or PIO or NRI candidates are also eligible.
Age Criteria:
  • There will be no upper age limit for apply.

Qualification Criteria:

    1) For 3 years LLB Course: 

Qualifying Exam: Have a graduate or postgraduate degree in any disciplines or its equivalent.

Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST category of Maharashtra state only) in aggregate.

   2)  For 5 years LLB Course:

Qualifying Exam: Passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from the recognized university.

Minimum Marks: Pass the above qualifying exam with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST category of Maharashtra state only) in aggregate.

Note: Appearing Candidates are also eligible to apply.

MH CET Law Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode:The examination will be conducted through online mode (CBT).
  • Number of Questions:In the examination, total 150 multiple choice types question will be asked.
  • Language:The question paper will be asked in English & Marathi
  • Duration:The exam duration will be two hours.
  • Marking Scheme:For the correct answer, one mark will be given to the candidates.
  • Negative Marking:No marks will be deducted for the wrong answer.

MH CET Law Syllabus 2019 – Subjects in-detail:

  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning– In this section candidates will be examined on the logical links, rectifying illogical arguments and identifying patterns. The subject will include completing arguments, drawing well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogies, applying principles, and rules and wide analogies. It also includes reasoning from a set of statements and rules and principles that describes the relationship among persons, things or events.
  • General Knowledge with Current Affairs– This section will consist of the topics such as Geography, General science, civics, economics, History (Ancient, Medieval and Modern). The main aim of this section is to examine the candidate’s knowledge of the latest happenings taking place around.
  • Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning– In this section, candidates will be examined on their problem-solving abilities. Moreover, the questions will also be set on the basis of legal propositions and mention facts to which the propositions need to be applied by the examinees. Some propositions may not be true in the real sense and candidates need to assume fact of these propositions (propositional truth) and answer the questions drawing well-supported conclusions.
  • Mathematical Aptitude– This section will  include questions from class 10th mathematics including time and work, algebra, numerical ability, average, Venn diagram, profit and loss and speed distance.
  • English– Topics including English usage errors (common errors, spotting errors in sentence, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes etc.), improvement and rearrangement of sentences, English comprehension and passages and Proficiency (idioms and phrases, one word substitution, improvement and rearrangement of sentences, fill in the blanks etc.) will be included in this section.
